Creating a term paper: time management tips
When writing term papers, it is important to be efficient, or to try and improve your efficiency, if you feel you are slow, or, if you feel that you are lagging behind the others in the class. You must actively take control over your focus and your actions. That is what effective time management is all about.
There are certain techniques one uses with time management to help them achieve a certain deadline. These techniques involve establishing one’s priorities and setting goals by allotting a certain amount of time to any one specific project. For instance, one-half hour to shower and shave, one hour to eat, three hours to do research, etc. When considering time management, people often think of it as personal time management, or, the time management we use when setting personal priorities and goals. But time management techniques are good for academic endeavors as well. The theory is that if time is managed wisely, an organized, efficient, and happy life will follow.
Time management techniques include (but are not limited to):
The first step is to figure out how much time you spend doing the things you do. If you draw for an hour each day, write that down. If you like to take long walks, write that down. If you need twenty minutes a day to feed your pet crocodiles, write that down. Next, figure out how it is you want or need to spend your time. Your paper can never be completed if your time is managed poorly. Even in the workaday world of 9-5, people live by the almighty clock. If you think about it, time is a very unique tool. It is equally and uniformly distributed so that everyone can use it. Yet, there are only 24 short hours in each and every day. No more. No less. Time is a commodity everyone should learn to use wisely. With regard to writing, managing time might make you more efficient in your work to the point that you can actually enjoy those long walks or phone conversations with grandma.
Everything that we do in life requires a bit of time. Time is precious. It is intangible, indispensable and invaluable to all of us. Make the most of your time; you never get it back once it is gone, unless you have a time machine.
